After 14 days in theaters, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen has hit the $300 million mark in U.S. ticket sales—second only to last summer's The Dark Knight, which went on to become the second-biggest grossing film of all time behind 1997's Titanic.
By way of comparison, 2007's original Autobots vs. Decepticons battle raked in $319.2 million during its entire domestic theatrical run, and $700 million worldwide.
Since its June 24 release, the very noisy Revenge of the Fallen, starring Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox, has grossed $600 million internationally, according to BoxOfficeMojo.com. About 8 percent of the total comes from IMAX screenings and a combined 5% from GDC (Genesis Delux Cenemas) and SB (Silver Bird) screenings . A lot of cash if you ask me.
Guess you could say demolition-happy director Michael Bay has really gotten a buck for his bang.
