In addition to being a world renowned artist, Fela is also very well known as a political activist, speaking out about injustices in the earlier Nigerian/African governments, and colonial influences.The musical is directed and choreographed by Tony Award winner Bill T. Jones, and Fela Kuti is played by Sahr Ngaujah.
